SNOW POND VILLAGE

This project looks to develop an arts community with the town of Sidney, Maine in connection with the Snow Pond Arts Academy. Working with Mitchell Rasor of Rasor Landscape Architecture, the project expands on the ideas of the existing campus while working to establish clear, positive, and supportive communication with the surrounding community.

With a large wetland system residing along the most opportune location for this community's center, the limitations to this project were known from the beginning. However, a solution was found by splitting the village center into two heads, one located to the south of the site and one to the north. Acting as commercial centers to the community, the north and south villages open the site to the central Maine community to enjoy the arts of Sidney.
